At 1:20 PM on February 18, 2025, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Sa-ngiamphong, Minister of Labor Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Jiraporn Sinthuprai, Deputy Minister of Finance Julapun Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Transport Monporn Charoensri, Deputy Minister of the Interior Sabida Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of the Interior Teerarat Samretwanit, and Deputy Minister of Public Health Dech-Ism Khaothong, visited the site to monitor the progress of the second phase of the concrete road construction project.
The project, covering a 300-meter stretch with a budget of 28 million baht, connects the new Sadao Customs checkpoint with the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint in Malaysia. Officials reported that the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization would oversee the project and request central budget approval, with completion scheduled for October 30, 2025.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn instructed Deputy Finance Minister Julapun to oversee the budget allocation to ensure the project is completed on time.

Jirayu Huangsub, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, gave a press briefing following the off-site Cabinet meeting (mobile Cabinet meeting). He highlighted the Prime Minister’s directives, urging the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Commerce to expedite measures to promote and support the cultivation of Phatthalung banana and Phu Banthat durian for widespread adoption and export.
Regarding Thale Noi in Phatthalung province, the Prime Minister requested support for tourism and fisheries development to create additional attractions for the southern region. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was instructed to develop a budget plan for addressing sedimentation in Thale Noi. Meanwhile, the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives was tasked with providing knowledge and measures for local fisheries in Songkhla province, such as raising catfish in a recirculating water system and fish breeding. Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports was directed to enhance eco-tourism promotion.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies were instructed to improve roads and enhance lighting on the Chalerm Phrakiat 80th Anniversary Bridge for safety and aesthetics while ensuring no harm to the ecosystem.
Jirayu also announced that the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, will be moved to Monday, March 3, 2025.
