However, on November 21, 2024, the hotel had previously announced news about renovations, stating, ‘Update from Dusit D2 Chiang Mai: Due to the flooding in Chiang Mai last October, the hotel was heavily affected, resulting in a temporary closure. To carry out full repairs and restoration, the hotel needs to remain closed until January 31, 2025.’ However, it later announced its permanent closure, marking the end of an 18-year legacy in Chiang Mai.
